Subject: PyTexas 2026 Sponsorship - 20th Anniversary

Hi [Name],

I wanted to flag an opportunity that seems right up your alley for our community engagement.

PyTexas 2026 (April 17-19 in Austin) is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. It's the oldest regional Python conference in North America, drawing 200-250 engineers from around the world.

Why this caught my eye:

  • 53% of attendees are software engineers/SDETs the exact audience we hope to engage with
  • We sold a sponsorship on day one of our prospectus release, so high-value tiers are moving quickly
  • They offer many perks, including a table, logo placement, and product pitches in front of the entire audience. I believe this would be a huge ROI for community visibility
  • Even spread across experience levels (27% have 15+ years, 20% are early career)

Past sponsors have included Microsoft, Google, Bloomberg, Cloudflare, and other large tech names.

You can find their Sponsorship Prospectus here. If you have any questions, you can reach them at [email protected]. I'm happy to discuss this opportunity further if helpful.

Thank you for your consideration,

Subject: PyTexas 2026 Sponsorship - Community investment opportunity

Hi [Name],

I wanted to bring a community sponsorship opportunity to your attention that could benefit both our team and our employer brand in the Texas engineering community.

PyTexas 2026 (April 17-19, Austin) is celebrating 20 years as the oldest regional Python conference in North America. It draws 200-250 engineers annually, with 83% from Texas.

Why this matters for us:

  • Team development: Sponsorship includes tickets + discounted corporate tickets for our engineers to attend
  • Employer brand: Positions us as invested in the Python/engineering community
  • Speaking opportunity: The speaker submission period is currently open, and top-tier sponsors receive a guaranteed speaking slot
  • Low risk, high visibility: Bronze tier is $1K for logo placement, table, and pitch slot

I've seen companies in cloud infrastructure, developer tools, consulting, and AI/ML sponsor similar events to strengthen their technical community presence.

The conference already sold one sponsorship on day one of releasing their prospectus, so there's clear demand. You can find their Sponsorship Prospectus here. If you have any questions, you can reach them at [email protected]. I'm happy to discuss this opportunity further if helpful.

Hi [Name],

I wanted to flag a lead generation opportunity that could be valuable for our 2026 Q2 pipeline.

PyTexas 2026 (April 17-19, Austin) brings together 200-250 Python engineers and technical decision-makers, with 83% based in Texas. It's the 20th anniversary of the oldest regional Python conference in North America.

Why this matters for our sales strategy:

  • High-value audience: 53% software engineers, 11% data scientists/ML engineers, 10% in leadership/management
  • Decision-maker access: Attendees invest in professional development = engaged, senior practitioners
  • Lead capture: Sponsors have successfully gathered leads through raffles (big-ticket items like AirPods), QR codes, and swag forms

Sponsorship as a sales activation:

  • Opportunity of staffed tables for direct engagement
  • Stage time at Gold+ tiers for product visibility (must be educational, not sales pitches)
  • Multiple tickets to bring sales engineers or account executives

One sponsor signed up the first day of prospectus release. With limited spots (15 Bronze, 5 Gold, 2 Platinum), this could be a smart addition to our event calendar.

Handling Common Objections

When advocating for sponsorship internally, you may encounter pushback. Here's how to respond:

"We don't have budget for this."

Response: "I understand budget is tight. Bronze tier is $1K less than the cost of a single job posting or a mid-level LinkedIn Recruiter license for a month. One quality hire or qualified lead could cover the cost 10x over. Also, they sold a sponsorship the first day if budget opens up later, the opportunity might be gone."

"How do we know this is worth it?"

Response: "PyTexas has been running for 20 years it's the oldest regional Python conference in North America. The fact that a sponsor signed up day one of the prospectus shows market validation. Plus, past sponsors include cloud providers, dev tool companies, consulting firms, and AI/ML companies, so there's precedent for ROI."

"We already sponsor PyCon US. Why another Python conference?"

Response: "PyCon US is national with 2,500+ attendees great for broad visibility. PyTexas is regional with 200-250 attendees, mostly Texas-based. It's more targeted, more intimate, and way more cost-effective. You're not competing for attention with 100 other sponsors. Plus, 83% of attendees are from Texas, so if we're hiring or selling here, it's hyper-relevant."

"Python isn't our primary language/focus."

Response: "Python is the #1 most-used language globally and dominates in data science, ML, DevOps, and backend engineering. Even if it's not our primary language, these are engineers who work across stacks."

"Can we do this next year?"

Response: "Absolutely, but this is the 20th anniversary year, which is likely to have higher attendance and visibility. Also, the prospectus just went out and a sponsor signed up the first day - popular tiers will sell out. If we wait, we might miss the opportunity altogether."

"Who approved sponsorships last year?"

Response: "Great question let me find out! Do you know who I should talk to in [DevRel/Marketing/Recruiting]?" (Use this to redirect to the right person.)
